Christine Black is a life-long painter who grew up in New England and studied at the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts. Many years spent migrating between the Florida Keys and Nantucket inspired her fascination with coastal seas, skies and infinitely changing weather patterns.
Her captivating oil paintings convey the endless variations of the shoreline that make us treasure our time at the beach. "Evening on St. George Island" is a stunning vertical painting that transports you to that summertime paradise.
Currently, Christine lives and works at her Blackbird Farm & Studio - an organic farm and art studio/gallery near the historic town of Micanopy in rural central Florida. She frequently visits St. George Island and Apalachicola to explore the gulf coast shore and the estuarine river and bay system, with its marshes, creeks and barrier island sanctuaries.
