Dawn Wilkins

Handmade nature prints by Dawn Wilkins are inspired by classic botanical lithographs, vintage scientific illustrations and nature studies interpreted in her own vibrant contemporary style.  Her work features accurate reproductions from objects found in nature, such as leaves and ferns, that are painted and pressed to preserve the images on silk screens. From this library of images, she creates her compositions.  Detailed illustrations in watercolor and colored pencil are added to tell a story about nature's interconnectedness. Antique wood frames are carefully selected to enhance each particular subject, creating a singular artwork to hang on the wall or rest on a table or shelf.
