Melissa is a native Floridian who loves painting the landscapes and scenes particular to her home state. Early on she knew art and design would be her calling. After earning a BFA from Parsons School of Design in New York, she returned to Florida embarking on a long arts career that encompassed graphic design, store and display design, art education, and painting. Our friendship with Melissa goes back to the eighties, when she was, for many years, the director of Lucky Street Gallery, a well-known Key West destination for artists and art lovers alike. By a fortunate turn of events, she and her husband retired to Thomasville, GA a few years ago, and Melissa's fulltime focus is now on painting - with oils, pastels or watercolors - selecting subjects that speak to her personally, and portraying them with an original eye. We are delighted to have a selection of Melissa's paintings at the gallery for you to discover.
