Cory Wright

Cory Wright has been painting professionally since her teen years. After receiving her BFA from Rhode Island School of design, she continued her studies in Rome. Over the next twenty years, she established a successful business working with designers, builders and homeowners to create large scale murals and custom faux finishes.
She discovered plein air painting in 2011 and began studying with noted plein air painters, soon winning awards at juried events. Since then, she has devoted her time and effort to pursuing what inspires her most -- painting outdoors and "capturing the essence of the light on the land, sand and sea around me."
Cory lives on Anna Maria Island along the west coast of Florida, and in 2016 opened Cory Wright Art Gallery & Studio just across the bridge in historic Palmetto. She participates in some of the top juried plein air events, and her work is widely collected. She is a popular teacher offering a number of classes and workshops - including here, at our gallery - and each summer, in Europe.
